This section is dedicated to questions you have sent to me, along with my answers. To ask a question, email me at tinytailsrabbits@gmail.com, and title your email "Q&A". Thank you!
A: They currently live outside, but would do fine inside as well. Just make sure you do not switch them back and forth.
A: Every bunny comes with a bag of feed that should last a week or two. I can also provide a "birth certificate" if asked for in advance. Also, any part of the pedigree I have, I can also give you if asked for in advance.
A: Before you take the rabbit into your care, please be sure to have the following,
1) Enclosure- It needs to be big enough for your bunny to exercise, or you will need to let them out to run. Feel free to write me with any questions on which enclosure to get.
2) Feed and water bowls- Bowls, not bottles. My bunnies don't know how to use a bottle. Bowls are safer anyways! I get mine from the dollar tree and Walmart.
3) Hay- Timothy is best, but any grass hay is fine. Just don't get alfalfa, its too high in protein. To save money, I buy mine in bales from a local farmer.
4) Good feed- I have had some very bad feeds before. When you pick out your feed, make sure it is hay based. A good, very popular brand is Oxbow. I use a local feed from Dawson Gap Naturals.
4) Toys- Bunnies need things to chew on to grind their ever growing teeth. You can get a simple piece of wood, or you can buy expensive toys. I also give my bunnies cardboard, paper bags, toilet/paper towel rolls, etc. Just make sure it does not have tape or color. Also make sure the wood/bunny toys are not painted/colored, treated, or made of poisonous materials.
Other things you can get after you get your bunny are,
5) Comb- I know its expensive, but it works really well. The Hair Buster is a comb that pulls dead/loose hair from your rabbit. If you don't want the expensive one, you can get a regular metal toothed comb.
6) Nail clippers- Don't buy the cheap $2 ones. I have had them before. The brand I have now is Safari. It works super well.
A: I feed my bunnies feed from Dawson Gap Naturals in Purcellville/Hillsboro, VA area. It is a non-GMO, soy free, Organic, 16%, hay based pellet. When you pick out your bunny feed, make sure it is HAY BASED! I can not express this enough! You need to check that it is hay based and not corn/grain based! I have had corn based bunny feed before, and would be happy to inform you how close to death my bunnies came. Whatever you do, DO NOT get Producer's Pride rabbit pellets. Oxbow would be a way better option.
A: Yes to both. They do great with my little Maltese Yorkie mix. They are raised exposed to children, and most bunnies would be great for little kids. Just email me and let me know what you are looking for, and I will help you find it!
A: No. As of right now, I do not focus on litter training. Only a few are trained, but all of them do their business in one spot. I have gotten positive feedback from some of my customers saying that they got them litter trained though!
